Spieth, Bell, McCurdy & Newell is a law firm of twenty lawyers providing quality legal representation and personal service. Established in 1867, it is Cleveland's oldest law firm. The firm offers large firm skills in a small firm setting. Within the legal profession and among its clients, the firm has earned a reputation for excellence - a reputation based upon the philosophy and performance of its partners and associates. Five of the partners are listed in the current edition of The Best Lawyers in America and six of the partners have been recognized by their peers as among “Ohio’s Super Lawyers” including two as among the top 100 lawyers and the top 50 women lawyers in the State.

We value the close lawyer-client relationships, independence, and autonomous character of a smaller firm. Our practice includes work with entrepreneurs and their key personnel, closely-held businesses, public companies with specialized needs and individuals with wealth-preservation, wealth-transfer, and succession planning requirements. Our litigation practice handles all areas of employment law, as well as litigation for large companies, businesses and individuals. Through continued personal attention and involvement in the activities of our clients, we have gained the in-depth understanding required to prevent or resolve problems and plan for the future.

The partners, by choice, over the long span of time have controlled the firm's growth to ensure that their clients will continue to have their personal attention and efforts.
