James R. Bright

Mr. Bright has been with Spieth Bell since 1976, with a concentration on estate and trust practice for the last 24 years. In addition to traditional estate planning advice (A-B Trusts), he has extensive experience in many sophisticated estate planning techniques, including generation-skipping transfers, charitable lead and remainder trusts, wealth replacement trusts, and private foundations. Mr. Bright continues to advise individual and corporate Executors and Trustees on tax and administration issues relating to trusts and estates. Many of his clients have made significant taxable lifetime gifts in the form of generation-skipping transfers, outright gifts to children, or charitable lead trusts, and Mr. Bright has provided the gift tax advice to help with the overall saving of transfer taxes. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He received his A.B. degree from Princeton University and his J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
